The First Formal Step
The postulancy is the first formal step in the journey of consecrated life.
Requirements for Admission
Those to be admitted to the postulancy must:
- Be at least 17 years of age
- Have good health
- Have a suitable disposition
- Hold a full Grade 12 certificate
Formation During Postulancy
During this stage, the candidates are helped to grow in human maturity and Christian maturity. Through the daily activities, they are:
- Introduced to prayer and religious life lived by the sisters
- Helped to understand the vocation to religious life
- Assisted to discern the calling and the implications and demands of their life
They are assisted by the Postulant Mistress and her team.
Documentation Required
The following documents are needed before admission:
- Baptism and Confirmation cards/Certificate
- Academic Certificate (full Grade 12)
- National Registration Card (NRC) / Passport
- Letter of recommendation from the Parish Priest
- Personal application letter stating motivation to join the congregation
