Mission Statement
The mission statement of the SCJ is derived from the mandate given to it by the charism:
"Rooted in Christ as apostles to our own people, we promote spiritual growth and human development."
Vision
To proclaim the good news and work for the salvation of our own people through pastoral care, education, health ministry, charity, and youth ministry.
Our Motto
"I am the handmaid of the Lord." (Epondi)
This expresses the readiness for God's Mission and to do His will at all times, anywhere. This is the response our Mother Mary gave to the angel Gabriel in the mystery of the Annunciation.
Our Logo
Our logo features the map of Zambia with the dioceses we are serving. The map has a tree in the centre with big roots bearing the writing "Rooted in Christ", green leaves and fruits on the tree.
Interpretation
- The map of Zambia symbolizes that we are an indigenous congregation founded in Zambia.
- The big roots with the writing "Rooted in Christ" denotes that in our apostolic mission, we draw strength and nourishment from Christ.
- This nourishment and strength helps us to be ever green and zealous for the mission, helping us to bear good fruits as we serve.
- From our service, new apostolates are born.
- Without the strength and nourishment from Christ, we cannot manage to carry out all the apostolic services that we do.
- The dioceses indicated show where we carry out God's mission in Zambia.
